Conditions of entry

As with every competition, there are conditions that entrants must meet and the Medway Culture and Design Awards 2008 are no different. We hope you find these conditions easy to follow. If you need any further information about them, please use the contact details at the foot of this page.

  • Entrants - individuals or groups - could enter themselves or be entered by somebody else.
  • Entrants must either live, work or study in Medway or be based here as an organisation. For the design categories, working in Medway will incorporate having worked on projects in Medway.
  • There is a two-year qualification period for the specific design and culture entries. This is anything achieved or created between 1 January 2006 and 1 January 2008.
  • In the event of entries being received from organisations or individuals involved in the judging or sponsorship or the awards, individuals with a prejudicial interest will not be involved in the judging process.
  • Each entry needs to be clearly described on the nomination form, supplementary pages, evidence and supporting material enclosed as appropriate.
  • All entries must include an entry form.
  • Completed forms and supporting material should have been sent to:

    Freepost
    Medway Renaissance

They could have been delivered to:

    Medway Renaissance
    Eastgate House
    High Street
    Rochester
    Kent ME1 1EW
  • If anyone is submitting more than one entry in the same category, all evidence should be on the same CD or DVD. Entries for different categories should be on separate CD or DVD.
  • To help the judges, you need to provide detailed information on how the submission meets the selection criteria and any additional special features you wish the judges to consider.
  • There is no limit to the number of entries a person or organisation can make.
  • Medway Council is unable to return any supporting material, which should be supplied as hard copies or digital files, with supporting images in JPEG, Apple QuickTime or Windows Media Player format where appropriate.
  • The judging panel reserves the right to move submissions between categories if appropriate.
  • All nominations had to be submitted by Saturday, 31 May 2008.
  • By entering the awards, you consent for the nominee’s name and project details to be featured on this website and, by agreement, in the Medway Messenger newspaper.
