Medway – the coach friendly destination

Medway is proud to be the first destination to win the Coach Tourism Council’s 2001 award - Coach Friendly Destination - in recognition of Medway Council's commitment to welcome visiting coaches to its area.

Few areas can match the quality of its facilities for visiting coach operators and groups, which, combined with Medway’s range of excellent visit opportunities, provides a unique destination for day visits and short breaks.

Medway Council's award-winning Visitor Information Centre is the ideal first port of call for groups of visitors to the area. After leaving their passengers at the coach drop-off point at the rear of the centre, coach drivers can take advantage of free coach parking at Acorn Wharf Coach Park and the chance to use the on-site facilities - all free of charge.

Whether your interest is Charles Dickens, the historic city of Rochester, the area’s military and maritime heritage or merely shopping and sightseeing, the council can put together an itinerary allowing you to make the most of your visit.
