Adults' countryside events

Greenspace Services publishes an annual guide containing site information, volunteering opportunities and an annual programme of events. The events range from small children's events and guided walks to large community activities. A few examples of the events Greenspace Services provide are listed below. Mountain bike trail

Ride the trail around Capstone Farm Country Park and better your lap times. This short trail, for all abilities, includes some big hills and ramps. Book in advance. £1 per person.

Berengrave Walk

The chairman of the Friends of Berengrave will lead the walk and relate the historical and industrial aspects of Berengrave Local Nature Reserve. Book in advance on 01634 337432. £1 per person.

  • Sunday, 23 August, 10am-12noon


The historic parks of Rochester walk

Starting from the War Memorial, Rochester High Street, the City of Rochester Society will guide the group around the historic green spaces throughout the ancient city. The walk will end at The Vines where the society will distribute its new historic leaflet. Walkers may choose to visit Restoration House at the end of the walk at a special concessionary price of £5.50. Book in advance on 01634 338191. Free.

Race for life

Join in Cancer Research UK’s race for life, a sponsored ladies’ only event. Women can walk, jog or run the three-mile course. For further information, visit www.raceforlife.org
