Junior ranger club

Find out about being a park ranger. Activities range from arts and crafts to walks, pond dipping and bird watching. For accompanied five to 12-year-olds. Book in advance on 01634 338191. £1 per child.

Tiny tots

This arts and crafts course includes simple finger painting and potato printing. For accompanied two to five-year-olds. £1 per child. There is no need to book.

Fishing teaching

Learn the basics of course fishing at Capstone Farm Country Park with park rangers. This course is aimed at beginners and those wanting to improve. All equipment and bait will be supplied. Book in advance. For accompanied eight to 12-year-olds. £8 per child. 9am-12noon.

Solstice fun day

This event is for the entire family. Find out what the Friends of Broomhill have been up to, their future plans and some of the site’s unusual history. Watch a giant sundial being made,bring your teddy bear for a parachute jump or have your face painted; there will also be live music and food.

Survival challenge

Camp out in Capstone Farm Country Park’s woodlands with the rangers, cook your own food over the campfire and learn traditional woodland crafts such as pole lathe turning, whistle and mallet making. Suitable for seven-year-olds and older. They must be accompanied by an adult unless pre-arranged. Book in advance. £20 per person includes breakfast.

A countryside experience

This event is for the entire family. Riverside Country Park will be packed with the best of Kent’s local produce and traditional craft demonstrations. There will be animals, arena acts, live music, beer tent and country fair. £1.50 per person.

Treasure trove trail

Find Pirate Jim and his treasure by following a fun quiz trail around the Riverside Country Park. For accompanied five to 12-year-olds. There is no need to book. £1 per child.

Prepare to be scared out of your skin. For accompanied five to 12-year-olds. Book in advance. £3 per person.

  • Friday, 30 October, 5.30-6.30pm and 7-8pm at Capstone Farm Country Park


Santa at the park

Santa will be visiting the country parks from 10am-4pm. There will be art and craft activities where you can make and decorate your own Christmas wish list. No need to book. £3 per child.
