Young musicians take castle by storm
A new event took place on Sunday, 20 July, from 12.30 to 3pm in Rochester Castle Gardens, with a format that gave young music performers – bands and individuals – a chance to take the same stage that was used on the previous four nights for the annual Castle Concerts.
Young musicians aged 11-18 years from across Medway auditioned in front of the organisers and mentors of Training Them Live, a local music project, for the opportunity to take part in this amazing event. The afternoon showcased a wide range of genres, including classical, pop, rock, blues and r 'n' b, making this an event for everyone.
The concert was free to attend and open to all ages. Food and soft drinks were available and there were a number of marquees with other items for sale.
