Sports development

Medway Council’s Sports Development and 2012 Team strives to ensure Medway achieves its ambition of becoming a centre of excellence for sport.

It has two major focuses:

  • encouraging more people to participate in sport; and
  • ensuring the residents of Medway have every opportunity to succeed.

It is also committed to maximising the benefits of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games for the people of Medway.

The team works with national governing bodies of sport, local clubs, schools and other organisations to promote participation for all, to champion excellence and to support the provision of safe, good quality services.
