Specialist services for children

The pages listed above contain information about social care and support for children and young people across Medway.

Help is available for residents who are concerned about the welfare of a child or children in their neighbourhood. The council's Children and Adults Directorate can also help parents who are finding it hard to cope with the pressures of everyday life or family circumstances.

Staff in the Children and Adults Directorate work with schools and the health service to offer the best services for the welfare of children. Effective working between agencies to help and protect children and young people can only be successful if the full picture is known, so permission may be asked to share information.

If you have a comment or complaint please refer to the complaints procedure.

Access to social services records

As with many other public and private bodies, Medway Council's Children and Adults Directorate will keep records about people who receive a service from it. These records could be stored on paper, on computer or both. This information is confidential and is only seen by the professionals and staff involved in each case. The law gives you the right to ask to see information the council holds about you.
