Young fathers' group

This is a social group where young fathers can discuss problems and support each other in an informal setting. A personal adviser is available at each session and input from other professionals is available when required.

The group meets every Friday, from 1 to 3pm, at the Sunlight Centre in Gillingham.

The fathers have agreed that they would like support in finding out more about:

  • fathers' rights;
  • benefits;
  • housing;
  • childcare;
  • healthy eating;
  • sexual health.

The group has applied for funding that will help it access training, buy equipment (like toys, games and baby-walkers) and go out on trips.

The group was started by three young men who felt they were not supported in their roles as fathers in the same way as mothers. If you are interested and would like to join the group, please contact the Sunlight Centre on 01634 338600.
