What is public health?

Public health is about improving health in populations and communities and the changes that are needed to bring this about.

There are three strands to public health:

• protecting health,
• promoting health,
• maintaining and restoring health.

The Medway Public Health Team is based at the address below and covers a wide area of work, including:
