Medway's new archive centre is ready to explore

28 June

Members of the public will be able to delve into history at Medway’s new archive centre from Tuesday, 4 July.

The facility, which is now in the former Strood Library building in Bryant Road, has been transformed over the past year. The project has involved months of careful relocation and acclimatisation of thousands of documents from the previous site to this bright modern facility.

Following the revamp, there are more historical records available to view online than ever before, and experts will be on hand at the centre to help members of the public with searches. For more detailed research there is also a dedicated quiet room for the study of precious and irreplaceable historic documents.
