Enter Medway's summer garden competition

21 June

Medway’s greatest gardens will be recognised this summer.

Green fingered residents can start planting and pruning to be in with a chance of taking the top spot in the Medway Blossoms competition.

And size doesn’t matter. It could be a lavish lawn, flourishing flower bed or wonderful window box - as long as it’s at the front of a residential property and it’s in Medway, it’s in with a chance of winning.

Medway Council’s Portfolio Holder overseeing community wardens, Cllr Rupert Turpin said: “It takes time, effort, skill and imagination to produce a garden and it's also very rewarding - not only for the gardener but for those of us who have the pleasure of seeing the fruits of their endeavours.

"I congratulate in advance everyone that’s taken pride in their garden and consequently entered the competition. I look forward to meeting the eventual winner.”

How to enter

Medway Blossoms will primarily run across the council’s Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts. Residents can submit one front garden photo per household to one of the social media platforms, and must use #MedwayBlossoms and also hash tag the town they live in e.g #Rochester for their entry to be considered.

The deadline for entries is 5pm on Thursday, 31 August.
