Capture Medway this summer

13 June 2017

Budding photographers are being encouraged to capture Medway during a jam-packed summer of fun celebrating what the area has to offer.

Residents and visitors have the chance to enter Medway Council’s photography competition, and the Medway in Flames event on Saturday, 17 June provides the ideal opportunity to show Medway at its best. This event is being held as the finale of the Battle of Medway commemorations.

Although Medway is more commonly known for its Charles Dickens connection and naval history, the area offers plenty of opportunities for the perfect shot; Medway provides stunning views of the river meandering through its towns and the surrounding picturesque countryside.

Cllr Alan Jarrett, Leader of Medway Council, said: “This is an exciting summer for Medway, with Battle of Medway commemorations welcoming people from far and wide. A number of large-scale, family-fun events have been organised and we’re on the look out for the best photographs taken during this time. Whether you’re attending the commemorations at Chatham Maritime, exploring the historic sites, enjoying a local event or finding an undiscovered treasure, please take your camera - we’re keen for people to share their photos, showing what they love about Medway.”
