A new phlebotomy clinic opens at Rainham Healthy Living Centre later this month (May). Residents of Rainham have been requesting a blood test clinic at the centre since it opened in 2007. The new service will run from 9.30am to 12.30pm every Thursday and Friday starting on 29 May. There are no set appointments - patients will be seen on a first-come first-serve basis. Patients are referred via their GP, specialist team or hospital. The Phlebotomy Team consists of 10 experienced staff members. The PCT’s phlebotomy clinics are very busy: every month around 4,000 patients are seen for routine blood tests. On a daily basis the team can see up to 150 people per clinic. Blood clinics are currently offered in the morning at Twydall Clinic (Mondays and Fridays), Parkwood Health Centre (Tuesdays and Wednesdays), Lordswood Healthy Living Centre (Tuesdays and Thursdays), The Sunlight Centre (Thursdays), Gillingham and Walter Brice, Hoo (every morning except Thursdays). For more details contact Tina Lund at Lordswood Healthy Living Centre on 01634 337444.
