Toddlers in Chatham will have somewhere to hang out with their friends when their pre-school unveils its new playground. A scrub piece of land next to the All Saints Children’s Centre Pre-school in Tramways, Luton, has been transformed into an area where they can have fun and remain active. Children can now enjoy playing outside throughout the year and enjoy activities such as chalking and climbing. The centre’s Healthy Eating Project Team will also be running Little Digger sessions to teach children how fruit and vegetables grow to develop their understanding of healthy eating. Early Education and Childcare co-ordinator Chris Hogbin said: “When the pre-school moved here, the outside area wasn’t a safe or interesting environment, so we arranged for the site to be transformed into somewhere that would encourage and promote a healthy lifestyle. “We are really pleased with the new play area and hope the children will enjoy using it.” All Saints Children’s Centre Pre-school is Ofsted registered and is open for children aged from under-fives. Children who are eligible for Nursery Education Grant funding are entitled to a maximum of five two-and-a-half hour sessions a week during school term-time. A charge will be applied to those sessions not covered by NEG funding. If parents would like to visit the pre-school, please call Cathy on 07795 370854.
