Seainin Passi hosts a sculptural workshop of natural wonders this weekend, at Rochester Art Gallery. The free workshop marks the end of her resident exhibition, Woodland Wonderland, and takes place on Saturday, 10 May, 10.30am-12noon and 1-2.30pm. At the beginning of the workshop participants are invited to spend a short amount of time sketching, drawing from the natural forms in the garden area at the back of the Visitor Information Centre (subject to weather conditions). Then, engaging with everyday and recycled materials, these investigations will be translated into 3D forms with guidance from Seainin. The workshop will provide an opportunity to explore the beauty and wonder of nature and the resulting artwork will be inspired by simplicity of form and material, a key expression of which Seainin's own work strives to achieve. The workshop is free and suitable for all, including children accompanied by adults. No need to book, just turn up. All materials supplied.
