Free food safety courses

Date: 21/05/2008           Category: Adult Learning

Do you know how to handle food safely - at home or at work? Are you familiar with the principles of safe storage and cleaning, and potential hazards? If not, then you, your family or customers could suffer serious consequences. But you can find out more about these issues at a free one-day course in food safety, offered by Medway Adult Learning Service. The day, which follows the syllabus of the Chartered Institute of Environment Health (CIEH), is varied and involves the use of videos and class discussion, as well as instruction and observation. The last part of the course takes the form of a multi-choice question paper and anyone gaining an appropriate mark will be awarded the CIEH certificate. For people working in the catering industry it is recommended that this course is retaken at least every three years. The only charge is a £6 registration fee. Dates available are 14, 15, 21 or 22 July. To book a place, call 01634 33 84 00.
