Strike a light - the Smoking Dog returns to Chatham

The Smoking Dog, Medway's original variety club, returns to The Command House, Chatham, for one night only. Hosted by Urban Fox Press, the event takes place on Friday, 6 June, doors 7.30pm. Kid Harpoon used to be a regular at Smoking Dog nights and returns to Medway to play an acoustic set, having just finished touring with The Kooks. His debut album is due in the summer and is many people's tip to grab the national headlines in 2008, including the BBC's Sounds show. The night will also feature poetry from Wolf Howard and Zara Carpenter and an open mic session for those wanting to perform themselves. In the background, a DJ will play decent old music at a level you can talk over. All Urban Fox books and CDs will be available half price. Tickets are £5.
