Toddlers will soon be able to go topsy turvy at a new music and movement group in Chatham. From Wednesday, 4 June children aged two to five will be able to take part in gentle exercise, make new friends and develop their speech at the Topsy Turvy Tots club. The weekly club will take place every Wednesday, term-time only, from 2 to 3pm at Greenvale Infant School in Symons Avenue, Chatham. Parents and carers can bring their children along to participate in fun and lively activities, like bubble play, an assault course, musical bumps, parachute play and circle songs. The group is being run by Sue Toman and Darshna Gupta from the All Saints Sure Start Children’s Centre, and Marion Jessup from the Wayfield Children’s Centre. They hope the sessions will promote physical exercise, help develop children’s confidence and self-esteem, help develop children’s coordination and movement skills, and is also a great way to develop speech, language and communication skills. It also helps develop a close bond between parent and child and encourage them to enjoy getting fit together, showing that exercise can be fun. The group is free and no booking is required, just turn up and have fun. For more details, call Sue or Darshna on 01634 338833 or Marion on 01634 843544.
