Never Mind the Buzzcocks - fans are booking fast to catch Simon in Medway

Date: 18/06/2008           Category: Leisure

Tickets are in high demand for Simon Amstell’s one night only appearance at The Central Theatre in Chatham on 28 June at 7.30pm. Having become the youngest ever finalist at the BBC New Comedy Awards, Amstell went on to make his name on Channel 4’s Popworld, before taking over as presenter of BBC2’s Never Mind The Buzzcocks. But he’s also created stir on the stand-up circuit, selling out at the Edinburgh Fringe for the last three years, as well as headlining the comedy stages at the Leeds and Reading Festivals. The Central Theatre has secured the only Kent date with the star as part of a major UK tour. While the show contains strong language, reviews of his Edinburgh gigs have commended him as an intellectually sophisticated, engagingly honest, and genuinely accomplished stand-up. So the evening promises to be a revelation to those fans that only know Amstell as the lightening-witted acerbic presenter from TV’s most popular music quiz. Tickets for Simon Amstell (plus support) cost £19 and £17. To check availability call the box office on 01634 338338 or visit www.medway.gov.uk/theatrebooking
