Safer Communities roadshow is coming to Medway

Date: 19/06/2008           Category: Community Safety

Medway Council’s Safer Communities Team is heading to Rainham next week to highlight its work. The team’s mobile unit will be at outside Stead and Simpson shoe shop in Rainham Shopping Precinct on Thursday, 26 June from 1 to 3pm. Portfolio Holder for Community Safety and Enforcement Cllr Rehman Chishti will also be answering residents’ questions. Residents can get information on trading standards, safer shopping, environmental health, how to get offensive graffiti removed, littering, smoke free, illegal street trading and emergency planning. The new date follows the success of last month’s roadshow at the Dockside Factory Outlet Centre in Chatham, and will roll out their one-stop-show across Medway throughout the year. Portfolio Holder for Community Safety and Enforcement Cllr Rehman Chishti said: “These roadshows give residents the chance to reach out to local consumers to hear what their experiences of Medway’s businesses are, as well as promoting the broad range of services that our Safer Communities Team provides.” Can’t make next Thursday’s roadshow?
