Strood contact point has moved from its former location at the Civic Centre reception to the clock tower annex at the rear of the building. While the council has recently vacated a significant part of the Civic Centre site, it remains committed to maintaining a presence for residents in Strood. Customers can access the new contact point to get help, advice and information on a wide range of council services, including housing, council tax and benefits. The contact point will continue to be jointly run with Kent Police, so that residents can also raise enquiries and concerns when they visit. On Monday 16 June Medway Council's Leader Cllr Rodney Chambers visited the new contact point, along with Customer First Portfolio Holder Cllr Janice Bamber and Deputy Leader Cllr Alan Jarrett. They were joined by Chief Superintendent Jan Stephens, Area Commander for Kent Police in Medway, and Sergeant Toni Roullier and Inspector Robin Wharfe from Kent Police. Ward Councillors for Strood North Cllr. Jane Chitty, Cllr. Jane Etheridge and Cllr. Stephen Hubbard were also in attendance. Cllr. Bamber said “I am delighted that residents in Strood can continue to access the council's services close to home, and that we are able to maintain this excellent joint initiative with Kent Police”. Opening times for Strood Contact Point are Monday to Thursday 8.30am to 5.15pm, Friday 8.30am to 4.45pm, Saturday 9am to1pm.
