International line up for Medway Comedy Club

Date: 03/07/2008           Category: Arts and Libraries

Medway Comedy Club returns to The Brook Theatre, Chatham on Monday, 7 July with something of a global flavour. The cabaret style evening of stand-up comedy will be headlined by Scotsman Danny Bhoy, who sold out at the Edinburgh Festival in 2001 with his first full length solo show, bowling audiences over with his razor-sharp wit and innate talent for story telling. He has gone on to appear at major comedy festivals around the world, including the Las Vegas Comedy Festival alongside Jerry Seinfeld and Chris Rock. Last year he embarked on a 94-date tour of Australia, culminating in a triumphant series of shows at the Sydney Opera House. Second on the bill is Welsh funny man Lloyd Langford. A prolific writer and performer, Lloyd is rapidly establishing himself as one of the most exciting new acts on the comedy circuit, with an ever-evolving mixture of personal anecdotes, witty one-liners and topical material. Outstanding Australian performer Aaron Counter will introduce the evening’s acts. Medway Comedy Club takes place at The Brook Theatre on the first Monday of most months. The show starts at 8.45pm and is strictly for over 18s. Tickets cost £7, Medway Comedy Club members £6, and are available from the box office, call 01634 338338 or alternatively, book online at www.medway.gov.uk/theatrebooking For more information contact Lisa Caleno on 01634 338308 or email lisa.caleno@medway.gov.uk
