MEDIA INVITE - PHOTO OPPORTUNITY - COSTUMED CHARACTERS AT MARKETS

Date: 12/08/2008           Category: Waste and Recycling

Bertie Bottle and his recycled chums are heading to Chatham tomorrow, Wednesday, 13 August, as part of a week-long tour of Medway to promote ethical living. The costumed characters, in the shape of a bottle and a jar, have been out and about on market days this week at Gillingham and Strood, as part of a Medway Council recycling promotion. A display trailer packed with the answers to all your recycling questions will accompany the characters. Medway Council began its new kerbside glass recycling service last month and is committed to promoting waste minimisation. Notes: The characters will make another appearance tomorrow, Wednesday, 13 August. Please call Waste Minimisation Officers Matt Feekings on 07740 590430 or Stephen Baker on 07717 531439 to find out where they are. (please do not print/broadcast these names and numbers).
