Here’s more good news for families wondering how to entertain their children during the summer break. From Thursday, 28 to Saturday, 30 August, Chatham high street will be filled with events and activities to keep the whole family entertained. From 11am to 3pm daily there will be face painting, walkabout street entertainers, and an old fashioned organ grinder in the high street. On Friday a jazz band and circus skills demonstrations and workshops will take place. On Saturday the sound of a steel band will fill the air. Families can also meet the King and Queen of Heart’s and Mr Clown who will be walking around the High Street on each day handing out balloons and entry forms for the Chatham Summer Fun Children’s Colouring Competition. There’s an excellent range of prizes to be won. The age categories are three to six, seven to 10 and 11 to 14 years. Chatham town centre manager Ron Morlham said: “Bring the whole family down to Chatham to enjoy the entertainment while doing some shopping. There are many places in the town centre to stop for a tasty lunch so why not make a whole day of it. You never know, you may even decide to stay for the whole three days.” These events have been organised by the Chatham Centre Forum with support from Medway Council.
