Media invite: Partnership working to clean-up Chatham estate

Date: Thursday, 21 August and Saturday, 23 August Time: from 9.15am to 1pm, Thursday, and from 12.30pm – 1pm, Saturday. Place: Spitfire Close, Princes Park, Chatham Contact: Tony Lee – 07920 599139 Mounds of rubbish, rubble and weeds will be cleared from an estate in Chatham, during a two-day clean-up campaign involving Medway Council and Kent Probation Service. Offenders under the supervision of Kent Probation's Community Payback Officers, will be clearing rubbish from a green area in Spitfire Close, Princes Park, Chatham. There will be two opportunities to see the offenders’ efforts as they come to the end of the gruelling mission to clean-up the estate, on Thursday, 21 and Saturday, 23 August. You are invited to send a photographer / media crew to Spitfire Close from 9.15am at 2pm, where they will be a chance to interview officers from the Environmental Enforcement Team and Kent Probation Service. The team will be working on the green area in the close, but please call Tony Lee on 07920 599 139 in case they have moved to another location. A full press release will be issued next week.
