Pizzas and pasta were top of the menu at a celebration day at a Children’s Centre in Chatham. The chefs who run the Boardroom Café at the All Saint’s Sure Start Centre held an Italian-themed event on 30 July to celebrate the launch of their outside garden area. The café and garden area were adorned with green, white and red bunting that has been made by the children in the Playlink drop-ins and parents. Parents and children got their hands dirty and made pizzas and pasta, which they ate in the café garden. They also met the centre’s two chickens, Martha and Aggie. Children under five also got themselves messy by trying their hand as pasta threading and spaghetti paint play Community Development Co-ordinator Jo Bunn said: “We organised this event to celebrate our fantastic café and garden area to encourage families to return to the centre during the week and enjoy the pleasant relaxed atmosphere that the café has with its tasty family friendly menu at very reasonable prices.” The café is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, from 11am to 3pm.
