Non-executive directors re-appointed at PCT

Medway Primary Care Trust is pleased to announce the reappointment of one of its non-executive directors. Trevor Cooper’s post was confirmed by the Appointments Commission on 23 July. He has been re-appointed from 1st October 2008 to 30th September 2012. Trevor Cooper has been a non-executive director with Medway PCT since March 2003. He said: “I believe vibrant and proactive local health services can only be achieved from partnership with the public through purposeful dialogue and open exchange of ideas and experiences. “True and lasting improvements will be seen when all engaged in providing health care across the range of services, together focus on streamlining patient pathways to deliver treatment designed for each individual which is prompt, appropriate, effective and of the highest standard.” This re-appointment has been made in accordance with the OCPA Code of Practice. All non-executive appointments are made on merit and political activity plays no part in the selection process. However, in accordance with the original Nolan recommendations, there is a requirement for appointees’ political activity (if any declared) to be made public. Mr Cooper has declared that he has not engaged in any political activity in the last five years and has not held any ministerial appointments. Remuneration for Trevor Cooper is £7,765 per annum. Medway Primary Care Trust provides a range of NHS health care services to the people of Medway, which includes the towns of Strood, Rochester, Chatham, Gillingham, Rainham and surrounding areas. It was established on 1 October 2006, and works with a range of statutory and voluntary organisations to improve health and social care for the population of Medway. The main services are elderly; community; rehabilitation and therapy services from a range of clinics and hospital sites. [ends]
