Date: 08/09/2008           Category: Arts and Libraries

Jim Davidson will return to the Central Theatre in Chatham this autumn following his sell-out performance at the venue last year. The controversial comedian first took to the stage over 30 years ago, and shows no signs of stopping. He’s clocked up three coveted Showbusiness Personality of The Year’ Awards – from the Variety Club of Great Britain; Comic Heritage and from The Grand Order of Water Rats, and has received the OBE for his services to charity. Jim was discovered on one of television earliest talent shows, New Faces, in 1976, and went on to top theatre bills in London’s West End and at major venues all over the country, as well as hosting a string of primetime TV shows including BBC TV’s Big Break and The Generation Game. His varied career has also included five visits to the Falkland Islands, and engagements throughout the world entertaining British service personnel.
