Beatles tribute gets back to Brook Theatre

Date: 10/09/2008           Category: Arts and Libraries

One of the most popular tribute acts around, The Backbeat Beatles return to the Brook Theatre in Chatham next month. The band was formed in 1994 by Chris O’Neill, who first found fame playing the part of George Harrison in Backbeat, the BAFTA award winning film about the Beatles’ story. He’s since swapped instruments to play Paul McCartney in this pitch-perfect tribute, which also boasts a 60s sized wardrobe of costume changes to bring to life the most celebrated band in pop history. The Backbeat Beatles don't just give a Beatles history lesson reciting song release dates and repeating every quip John Lennon ever made. They perform with an energy and spontaneity that makes for a fun, enjoyable evening for everyone involved. With an excellent level of musicianship and irrepressible wit, The Backbeat Beatles will take their audience through superb renditions of favourite Beatles hits from love Me Do through to Let It Be, wearing both classic Beatles suits and full Sgt. Pepper regalia. The Backbeat Beatles will be on stage at the Brook Theatre on Thursday, 2 October at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £15 with concessions available, and are available from the box office on 01634 338338 or online at www.medway.gov.uk/theatrebooking ENDS Editors: for further information please contact Lisa Caleno on 01634 338308 or email lisa.caleno@medway.gov.uk
