Young musicians get ready for all that jazz

Date: 12/09/2008           Category: Arts and Libraries

Kent Youth Jazz Orchestra will perform at The Brook Theatre in Chatham on Sunday, 5 October from 7.30pm, focussing on funky big band adaptations through the post-war years. The orchestra aims to foster the development of jazz within the county and to motivate young musicians to develop their talents in the field of big band jazz within a structured, cost effective and supportive environment. Under the dynamic musical direction of trombonist, percussionist and keyboard player Graham Mann, the orchestra raises the roof wherever it performs. Membership is open to any young musician seeking to gain experience in the Big Band format and to develop their improvisational skills.
