Wartime drama with a twist

Date: 18/09/2008           Category: Arts and Libraries

Medway-based theatre group Alternate Shadows will be taking audiences back to the Blitz when they return to The Brook Theatre in Chatham next month. Their new production, Bombed Out, is a murder mystery by Bob Cooke. The drama unfolds as an air raid siren roars on a September evening in 1941 and an odd assortment of people are thrown together in a bomb shelter somewhere in the south east. A solider, an industrialist, a Belgian refugee, a charming socialite all find themselves rapped up in a tale of espionage, jealousy, hatred and blind ignorance - and certainly a few motives for murder. In true murder mystery tradition, the audience will be engaged in solving the puzzle before the truth is finally revealed. Bombed Out will be performed on Wednesday, 8 October at 7.45pm. Tickets cost £6 with concessions available.
