Bugsy’s back at Brook Theatre

Date: 23/09/2008           Category: Arts and Libraries

Medway-based Three Town’s Theatre Company will be donning the pinstripes and getting ready to fling the pies, as they revive the classic musical Bugsy Malone at The Brook Theatre in Chatham next month. Originally made famous by a cast of children, it’s now the turn of the adults to play all your favourite characters. Set in 1920s New York, the action follows the tale of charming chancer Bugsy Malone, caught between rival gang leaders Fat Sam and Dandy Dan. Love, as always, complicates things as Bugsy falls for Blousey Brown and encounters the temptress Tallulah. The show features many of the fantastic sing-along songs from the original musical, including So You Wanna Be A Boxer, My Name Is Tallulah, Fat Sam’s Grand Slam and many more. Bugsy Malone will be performed from Wednesday, 29 October to Saturday, 1 November at 7.30pm, with a Saturday matinee at 2.30pm. Tickets cost £9 with concessions available, and are on sale at the box office on 01634 338338 or online at www.medway.gov.uk/theatrebooking.
