Date: 26/09/2008           Category: Childrens Care

On Friday, 10 October we are inviting staff, families and visitors to All Saints Sure Start Children’s Centre to dress as a Pirate and have a swashbuckling time and join in with the fun! The fun starts from 10am to 12noon in the Family Room, from 9am to 12noon in Playlink and Piratey themed food will be served in the Café from 11am to 3pm. Activities will include: Catch the Creature – hook or net a creature to win booty! Yo-ho- ho A Pirates Life For Me – decorate your own Pirates hat! Name the Pirate – pick your favourite name for our pirate puppet and you could win him! Rhyme and story time - nautical rhymes and stories to enjoy together. Prizes to be won. Goody bag to take home. Bookstart Officer Sue Toman, who promotes Bookstart throughout the year with displays of information and gives out Bookstart and Bookstart+ bags to families to encourage them to enjoy books at home. Sue also runs the mini library here at the centre so families can share a book while they are waiting in reception and borrow books to take home. Sue wanted to organise lots of nautical activities for Bookstart day on the 10th October, giving the message in a fun way that stories and books can be fun and great to enjoy as a family. Bookstart is a national programme that encourages all parents and carers to enjoy books with children from as early an age as possible by giving them free books. Share books with your children. If you would like any more information, please contact Jo at the centre on 01634 338833.
