Swashbuckling fun for pirate-loving children

For children who love dressing up as swashbuckling pirates, the theme of this year’s National Bookstart Day – pirates – is sure to please. There are lots of free activities and events at libraries across Medway and children attending are encouraged to dress up as pirates for all the events. Please note, all children under eight must be accompanied by an adult Tuesday, 7 October Pirate theme story time for preschool children at Chatham Library from 2.15 to 3pm. Wednesday, 8 October Pirate theme story time for preschool children with stories and craft at Walderslade Hook Meadow Library from 2.15 to 2.45pm. Wednesday, 8 October Pirates playtime for preschool children at Gillingham Library from 10.30 to 11.30am. Booking is essential as places are limited – phone 337340. Thursday, 9 October Pirates and Pearls: fun activities for preschool children at Chatham Library from 2.15 to 3pm. Booking is essential as places are limited – phone 337799. Friday, 10 October Pirate theme story time for preschool children with stories and craft at Walderslade Village Library from 2.15 to 2.45pm. Phone 686467. Friday, 17 October Pirates and Poppets: fun, games and food for children aged 18 months to four years old at Strood Library Hall from 10.30 to 11.30am. Booking is essential –phone 335890.
