The changing face of the River Medway is the inspiration for an art exhibition that opens next month. Jack Lacey presents An Acquaintance with the River Medway (1936 to 2008) at the Brook Theatre Art Gallery. Lacey uses oils and watercolours to bring the river to life on his canvases. Patrolling the water by boat and the banks by foot, the artist has witnessed many changes over the years. This exhibition focuses on the period between 1965 and 2000 and includes narrative verse alongside some of the pieces, which provide further explanation. The exhibition is open from Saturday, 1 to Saturday, 29 November from 10am to 9pm Monday to Saturday (closed Sundays). Entrance is free.
