Meet the pirates as Treasure Island sets sail in Chatham

Date: 15/10/2008           Category: Arts and Libraries

Calling all shipmates! The Historic Dockyard Chatham will be invaded by a motley band of pirates and vagabonds this autumn break, and you could be joining them for some swashbuckling fun. The cast of Treasure Island, this year’s spectacular Christmas show for children at the Brook Theatre, will be launching their show on board HMS Gannet (1878) on Wednesday, 29 October at 11am. They want to make it a day to remember, so they’re looking for a crew of children and young people from Medway aged between eight and 16 to dress up as pirates and join them as they strike a pose for the press and search for treasure on the ship. This is a fantastic opportunity to board the beautiful Victorian naval sloop for free, and meet the cast of the show. The best-dressed and most fearsome looking pirate will also win a family ticket to see Treasure Island at The Brook Theatre this Christmas. There are only 25 places available, so don’t delay. To make sure you’re in with a chance to meet the pirates, simply email your full name and address to arts.marketing@medway.gov.uk by Wednesday, 22 October. Please put “Meet The Pirates” in the subject line. All places must be booked in advance and all children aged 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
