Legendary big band night gets a Medway revival

Big band fans can look forward to a special evening of music at The Central Theatre in Chatham on Sunday, 16 November. Sing Sing Sing is a recreation of the legendary Benny Goodman’s Carnegie Hall Concert in 1938, regarded by many as finest jazz spectacle ever. Ex Jools Holland arranger and star clarinet soloist Pete Long has taken on the challenge of recreate this musical masterpiece on the Chatham stage, aided by the cream of London’s big band performers and American vocalist Joan Viskant. The show will feature all the great hits of that memorable night back in 1938, including Don’t Be That Way, Body & Soul, One O’Clock Jump, China Boy, Sing, Sing Sing and many more. The evening begins at 7.30pm and tickets cost £16 and £14.50 with concessions available for senior citizens.
