Date: 01/12/2008           Category: Arts and Libraries

An open morning at Medway Archives and Local Studies Centre (MALSC) on Wednesday, 10 December provides an opportunity to catch two exhibitions at once. Please drop in, anytime between 10am and midday. There will also be a sale of secondhand books plus mince pies and refreshments for all visitors. The first exhibition entitled People's Palaces: prefabs and post war housing in Medway includes residents’ memories and photographs. This runs until 3 February. The second exhibition Who? What? Where? When? is a collection of unidentified photographs in the MALSC collection. The exhibition has proved so popular that it has been extended until 31 January and MALSC welcome input from anyone with local knowledge to help identify these photographs. From 2.30pm on Wednesday 10 December, Michael Gandy will be giving a presentation called Seeing it Through Their Songs, which looks at popular music and songs in the 19th and 20th centuries. Tickets cost £4 each, or £3 to members of Friends of Medway Archives. Booking is essential for the afternoon event because places are limited. Please phone MALSC on 01634 332714.
