The achievements of young people in Medway will be celebrated this week at the annual Try Angle awards.
Organised by Medway Youth Parliament, the Try Angle awards recognise young people in the community who, for a variety of reasons, have demonstrated character, commitment, perseverance or compassion beyond expectations.
The awards recognise the hard work and commitment of both individuals and groups of young people aged 10 – 18 years old. They fall into the following 10 categories:
Bravery
The Arts
Music
Sports
Changemakers
Positive Media Image
Personal Development
Good Friends and Young Carers
Citizenship and Environment
Service to the Community
The Mayor of Medway, Cllr Ted Baker will be among those presenting the awards at the Central Theatre, Chatham on Tuesday, 28 June.
The event is sponsored by Kent Police, Kent Fire Rescue, Medway Rotary, Rochester Rotary, Medway Soroptimists, MHS Homes, Chatham Maritime Trust, Medway Youth Trust, University of Greenwich, Co-operative Community Fund and Medway Youth Parliament
Alongside the award presentations, the evening will also be an opportunity to showcase the many talents of Medway’s young people who will provide the night’s entertainment.
