Christmas at Medway's Sure Start Centres

Medway’s Sure Start Centres are counting down the days to Christmas with festive themed events taking place almost every day between now and 23 December.

Father Christmas will be hot footing it across Medway’s 19 Sure Start Centres to wish children a very merry Christmas, along with Christmas themed messy play, cooking and festive parties.

A full timetable of activities can be downloaded online at www.medway.gov.uk/surestart for parents and carers to find out what’s going on at their nearest centre.

Here’s a selection of what’s on offer:

Miers Court Children’s Centre will be starting off their celebrations with a Christmas party especially for the under 1’s at the centre from 1.30 to 3pm. The centre’s main Christmas party will take place on Thursday, 15 December from 2 to 3.30pm.

Gun Lane Children’s Centre will be cooking up some seasonal treats at two Christmas cooking sessions taking place on Thursday, 15 December from 1.30 to 3pm and Friday, 16 December 10am to 12noon.

On Friday, 16 December, Saxon Way Children’s Centre will be inviting families and children to their Christmas party at the Parochial Hall, Ingram Road, Gillingham.

On Monday, 19 December, the start of the school Christmas holidays will be greeted with Christmas parties at Bligh Children’s Centre (12.30 to 2.30pm), Lordswood Children’s Centre (1 to 3pm) and Wayfield Children’s Centre (1.30 to 3pm).

Santa will be heading to Riverside Children’s Centre on Wednesday, 21 December from 11.30am to 2.30pm for the centre’s Christmas party. The event costs £2.50 per child.

Father Christmas will head to Gun Lane Children’s Centre between 1.30 and 3.30pm on Wednesday, 21 December for a Christmas party, games and a free raffle.

On Thursday, 22 December, Lordswood Children’s Centre will be putting a festive theme on the ever popular messy play session, from 10.30am to 12.30pm.

And on Friday, 23 December, Gun Lane Children’s Centre will be warming up for the weekend with mince pies and carols for children and families from 10.30am to 12noon.
