Björn Again Steps up to join Concerts Line-up

Date: 19/06/2012           Category: Events

The internationally acclaimed show Björn Again will get the party started with the greatest hits of Abba, before Steps take the Castle Concerts stage on Thursday, 19 July.

Created in the late 80s by Australian director and musician Rod Stephen, Björn Again has now performed 4,700 times in 70 countries over 24 years

Originally designed as a rocked-up light-hearted satirical Abba spoof, the show rapidly achieved world-wide cult status and initiated the Abba revival which brought about Abba Gold, Muriel’s Wedding and Mamma Mia!

Tickets are already selling fast for the Steps show, which will see thousands of fans partying to smash hits “5,6,7,8”, “Tragedy” and “Heartbeat” with original Steps members Faye Tozer, Ian “H” Watkins, Lisa Scott-Lee, Lee Latchford Evans and Claire Richards.

This year’s castle concerts line up also includes Jools Holland, who returns to the Castle Gardens with his Rhythm & Blues Orchestra on Wednesday, 18 July, with a stellar line up of special guests, including soul star Ruby Turner and Roland Gift from the Fine Young Cannibals.

Tickets have sold out for the fantastic Friday night Soul Party on Friday, 20 July, starring powerhouse singers Billy Ocean and Alexander O’Neal.

And the concert series will end in traditional rousing style with the Castle Proms, featuring Philharmonic Concert Orchestra and special guests Amore at Rochester Castle Gardens on Saturday 21 July.

Tickets are £35 for Jools Holland and His Rhythm & Blues Orchestra, £35 for Steps, £30 for Soul Party, and £30 for Castle Proms.

Concert tickets are available in person at The Central Theatre Box Office, The Brook Theatre Box Office and Medway Visitor Information Centre, by phone on 01634 338338 or online at www.thecastleconcerts.co.uk
