Community pulls together to clean up their road

Residents in Gillingham are being encouraged to roll up their sleeves and take part in a community clean up day next week. So far, 20 people have signed up to the Valley Road clean up on Saturday, 22 September. The event has been organised by Medway Council’s Waste Management team and Neighbourhood Watch and will take place from 9.30am to 3pm. Medway Safer Communities officers, local ward councilors, PC Dave Reynolds will also be helping the army of volunteers. Refreshment s will be provided by businesses in the area. People wishing to take part should meet at the Foresters Hall at 9am. Tea and coffee will be provided. Call Medway Safer Communities on o1634 338131 for more details.
