Date: 07/01/2008           Category: Arts and Libraries

Desi Rhythms, boasting some of the world's finest music with Asian roots and influences, returns to The Central Theatre, Chatham. After a sellout show in November 2007, Medway Ethnic Minority Forum has put together another exciting line-up for Saturday, 19 January, with the first event beginning at 6.30pm. Topping the bill is top-10 artist Raghav. The Canadian-born vocalist trained in Los Angeles with Seth Riggs, who has coached Madonna, Michael Jackson and Stevie Wonder, before moving to Liverpool. At college, he joined R&B band 11/7 and received a Mobo nomination for best unsigned artist. After signing for A&R Records Raghav released So Confused, with DJ and producer 2Play, which reached number seven in the UK charts. Raghav's next single, Can't Get Enough, was released under his own name and again reached the UK top-10. His second album is due for release very soon. Also on the bill are Leicester based Garage and R&B artist Gubi Sandhu, 3Mix, Shayal and PGP Dancers. Tickets cost £5. Call the box office on 01634 338338 or email boxoffice@medway.gov.uk.
