Paintings depict nature at its best

Date: 17/01/2008           Category: Greenspaces

Silk, glass and sand are just some of the materials used by a local artist to bring nature to life in her artwork. Gillingham artist Lorinda Belmonte-Barlow’s exhibition called, Embellished and Abstract Art, is currently on display at the Visitor Centre, Riverside Country Park, Lower Road, Rainham from 10 am to 6pm until Friday, 25 January. Lorinda uses a combination of mixed media to bring to life her paintings of leaves, plants and countryside scenery. She said: “I trained as an interior designer but started painting two years ago. I really enjoy it, and I’ve had some positive feedback about my pieces.” If you miss Lorinda at Riverside Country Park, her paintings will also be on display at Hempstead Valley Shopping Centre on Sunday, 24 February.
