Medway's hunt for high-quality teachers

Date: 29/01/2008           Category: Learning and Achievement

Medway is on the hunt for high-quality teachers. They are invited to come to a teacher recruitment fair on Friday, 1 February at the Corn Exchange, Rochester High Street, from 1 - 3.30pm. The aim is to recruit about 150 people, mostly newly-qualified student teachers from local universities, as well as experienced teachers. Among the exhibitors at the event will be primary, secondary and Special Educational Needs schools from the Medway area hoping to attract the best teachers available. What Medway has to offer those new to the area will be represented by Moat Housing, which runs key-worker housing, HSBC offering special-rate mortgages for teachers, and the teaching unions. There will also be presentations from Medway Council’s Induction Adviser Alan Stone and two newly-qualified teachers currently teaching in Medway schools
