Rainham Library has a facelift

Date: 11/03/2008           Category: Arts and Libraries

As part of the library services on-going commitment to improving all its buildings, Rainham Library has had both the inside and outside repainted to give it a bright fresh look. Other improvements include a new toilet for disabled customers, heath and safety improvements to stairs and new display equipment. A reading area has also been created where customers can relax on comfortable seating and enjoy the atmosphere of their local library. The improvements were completed and funded as part of members' priorities. Medway Council's Portfolio Holder for Community Services Cllr Howard Doe said: "The facilities offered at Rainham Library are excellent and this work is further proof of our commitment to invest in the library service." Rainham Library offers regular activities for children including baby, bounce and rhyme every Thursday 11am to 11.30am; shake, rattle and roll-every Tuesday 2.15pm to 2.45pm.
