Media invite: Workers swap suits for shorts at tomorrow's Medway Business Games

Media invite: Friday, 29 February Games take place from 2pm to 6pm at Kicks Soccer Centre, Strood Sports Centre, Watling Street, Strood. The 2008 Medway Business Games competition kicks off on Friday afternoon (29 February) with a five-a-side football tournament at Medway's new third generation soccer centre. And Gills’ captain Andrew Crofts will be the guest of honour presenting the trophy to the winning team. Friday's action takes place at the new Kicks Soccer Centre at Strood Sports Centre and will feature 12 teams representing local organisations and companies. The teams are: · Canterbury Young Professionals/Strutt and Parker · Furley Page · Henry Schein · HSBC · Kent Reliance Building Society · Lloyds · Medway Council · Medway Messenger · Medway Police · Mhs homes · RSME · Strood Sports Centre The first games begin at 2pm and the tournament should finish at 6pm. In addition to the tournament trophy, there will be prizes up for grabs for the Player of the Tournament and the best player from each, courtesy of Gillingham FC and Kicks. The winning team will also enjoy a VIP day out at Priestfield Stadium for a Gillingham home game. From 4pm to 6pm, Kicks is also laying on a business buffet for representatives from local organisations interested in having a tour of the facility and finding out more about plans for a corporate league at the centre. Football is one of five sports making up the 2008 Medway Business Games programme, a series of monthly competitions organised by Medway Council's 2012 and Sports Development teams as part of the Medway Games programme. The next event is a badminton tournament on Wednesday, 19 March at the Medway Badminton Association's Castlemaine Hall in Castlemaine Avenue, Gillingham.
