New Brompton College, specialist Performing Arts school, is proud to announce its forthcoming stage adaptation of the Wizard of Oz, at The Brook Theatre, Chatham. The production, which is aimed at primary school children, runs on Wednesday, 26 and Friday, 28 March, 1.30pm. The 60 New Brompton College students involved are in their final year of a BTEC First Diploma in Performing Arts, following a dance or drama pathway. Working alongside Brook Theatre staff, they have planned, produced and will now perform their unique version of this enchanting tale. Munchkins will appear a little more street, dance routines have a contemporary feel and Dorothy will need the audience to join in and help her follow the yellow brick road. The audience will also have the chance to learn new dance moves and take part in the play. The college’s partnership with The Brook Theatre began last year, as staff and students worked together to present a stage version of Roald Dahl’s classic tale The Witches. The event was a huge success across partner primary schools and gave students an invaluable insight into how to stage a theatre production. Tickets are £3.50 children and £4.50 adults. A special school party rate of £2.50 per ticket includes one free teacher’s ticket for every 10 sold.
