Workshops in Medway to add extra bounce during the spring break

Medway Council's Arts Development team has put the finishing touches to Springboard 08, spring break workshops for under 18s. A range of colourful and engaging activities will run from Monday, 7 to Friday, 18 April at The Brook and Central Theatres and Chatham Library. ANIMAL ANTICS - a one-day drama workshop From 10am - 3.30pm on Monday, 7 April at The Brook Theatre, children aged 8 - 11 years can explore wild animal tales and then develop and act out a mini performance for family and friends at the end of the day. £13. JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOUR DREAMCOAT - a four-day drama workshop Theatre Experience takes children aged 8 - 16 years on a journey through one of the biggest and most popular biblical tales of all. A great opportunity to sing, act and wear a dreamcoat. Runs from Tuesday, 8 - Friday, 11 April, 10am - 4pm each day. £45 in total. CARIBBEAN ADVENTURE - a free half-day art and craft workshop On Thursday, 10 April, 2 - 3.30pm, children aged 8 - 11 years are invited to Chatham Library to embark on a Caribbean adventure. From crafting 3D examples of tropical flora and fauna, to listening to exotic stories performed by Medway Library Service. Free. STRICTLY DANCE FEVER - a one-day dance workshop Professional dancer, J, will teach children aged 8 - 16 years funky versions of different dance styles including lindy hop, jive, salsa and a touch of ballroom. Runs from 10am - 3.30pm on Monday, 14 April. £13. PIRATES PLUNDER - a four-day drama workshop Timbers will be shivered and parrotts petted on this four-day voyage across the oceans of adventures past. Hosted by Play on Words Theatre Company, children aged 8 - 16 years will take part in bloodthristy tales of intrigue and scandal. Runs from Tuesday, 15 - Friday, 18 April, 10am - 4pm each day. £45 in total. TEDDY BEAR'S PICNIC - an art and craft workshop for under 8s On Thursday, 17 April, 2 - 3.30pm, Medway Library Service will host an afternoon of gentle, teddy-themed tales and fun craft activities at The Central Theatre's Sandwich Cellar, Chatham. £2.50 per child and includes a free drink and snack for adults and kids.
