Twin visit by High Sheriffs

Date: 17/03/2008           Category: Members Services / Chief Executive Office

New High Sheriff of Kent Mr Richard Oldfield had a chance to pick up a few tips when he visited Mayor of Medway Cllr Val Goulden for lunch at Commissioner's House in the Historic Dockyard, Chatham in March. Mr. Oldfield, at that stage High Sheriff Elect, was joined by the then High Sheriff - and Kent Life columnist - Mr Nigel Wheeler on what was one of his last official visits. “I was absolutely delighted to be able to welcome not one, but two High Sheriffs,” said Cllr Goulden, who was herself joined by Mayor Elect of Medway Cllr David Carr, who takes office in early May. Also at the lunch were Her Majesty’s Deputy Lord Lieutenant of Kent Mr John Spence OBE DL and representatives from Medway's business community, the emergency services, the courts, education system and the Royal School of Military Engineering. Kent Life is meanwhile delighted that Mr. Oldfield has agreed to carry on with the magazine feature started by his predecessor.
